Professor Emeritus Dr. Edward Oke (1935-2022)RMC Professor Emeritus Dr. Edward Oke passed away on January 3, 2022 after struggling with health issues. Ed had a long and fruitful ministry in Christian Higher Education beginning as President of Mountain View Bible College in 1963 and closing when he served as Academic Dean at Rocky Mountain College in Calgary from 1992 - 2001.
Ed was a favorite prof of many and loved to pass his passion for the New Testament and the Greek language to the next generation of leaders. Undergrad students brought Ed much joy as he watched them grow in faith and in their knowledge and abilities to work through decisions about how to invest their life serving others.
Dr. Oke was a key figure in the merging of Hillcrest Christian College and Mountain View Bible College to form Rocky Mountain College in 1992. His leadership helped to set the genetic code for Rocky, much of which remains today. As well, many faculty and staff benefited from his leadership during that time.
On behalf of Rocky Mountain College, we extend our condolences and prayers to Janette and her family and we express our thankfulness for his investment in so many lives.
MosesMoses, a student at Ambrose University, who has completed two courses through Pathways, says that during his course at RMC, staff were very helpful to assist him to find the correct sources for assignments, and even facilitated him finding a scholarship.
Danielle Ezard is a 2015 Rocky grad who completed her two year Diploma in Christian Leadership. Danielle is an Australian who heard about Rocky Mountain College from a friend's husband there who had gone to Rocky.
Jamie Hunka, a 2014 graduate of the 4 year degree in Pastoral Ministry, reflects back on his time at Rocky Mountain College. He chose to study at Rocky because of the influence of some key Christian mentors in his life who had also attended RMC.
